About Clash of Clans
Clash of Clans is a strategy base-builder where you grow a village, train troops and raid other players in Clan Wars. It is a 2D, low-demand title that runs smoothly at 60 FPS on almost any phone, so there is very little to configure graphically — the only real visual toggle is a low-graphics / reduced-quality mode for older or lower-end devices. Because performance is rarely the issue, the profiles here focus on the things that actually matter for a base-builder: battery drain, mobile-data usage and keeping the game healthy in the background between attacks.
Best mobile settings
Three curated profiles — max FPS for competitive, balanced, and HD graphics.
War / Push Ready
Not about FPS — CoC is already smooth everywhere. This profile keeps the app responsive and reliable during Clan War attacks, where a dropped connection can cost a three-star.
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Low Graphics Mode | On | The only real graphics toggle; keeps scrolling fluid on older phones during attacks. |
| Sound Effects | Off | Removes an audio-processing cost and helps you focus on troop deployment. |
| Music | Off | — |
| Wi-Fi Only Play | Recommended | A dropped connection mid-attack can void the raid — use stable Wi-Fi for wars. |
| Background App Refresh | Off | Frees RAM so the game reopens instantly between back-to-back attacks. |
| Battery Saver Mode | Off | OS battery saver throttles the CPU and can cause stutter while scrolling a base. |
| Push Notifications | War / Attack only | — |
| Screen Brightness | 60–70% | — |
Everyday Balanced
The sensible default for daily farming and clan life — good looks, reasonable battery and data use, with sound left on for feedback.
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Low Graphics Mode | Off | Full visuals; a modern phone handles CoC at 60 FPS with ease. |
| Sound Effects | On | — |
| Music | On | — |
| Wi-Fi Only Play | Off | — |
| Background App Refresh | On | — |
| Battery Saver Mode | Off | — |
| Push Notifications | On | Troop-training and shield-expiry alerts keep your farming cycle efficient. |
| Screen Brightness | 55% | — |
Full Visuals + Battery Saver
Full quality with mobile-data and battery hygiene turned up — best for enjoying the village on the go without draining the phone or your data plan.
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Low Graphics Mode | Off | Full village detail and animations. |
| Sound Effects | On | — |
| Music | On | — |
| Wi-Fi Only Play | On | CoC's data use is tiny, but this avoids any cellular use while out. |
| Background App Refresh | Off | Stops the app quietly using data and battery when you're not playing. |
| Battery Saver Mode | On (OS level) | Harmless here — the game is so light it stays smooth even when the CPU is throttled. |
| Push Notifications | Off | — |
| Screen Brightness | 45–50% | — |

Optimization tips
- 1
Clash of Clans is capped at 60 FPS and runs there on almost any phone — chasing higher frame rates does nothing, so optimize for battery and data instead.
- 2
On an older or budget phone, the in-game Low Graphics mode is the one toggle that meaningfully improves scrolling smoothness.
- 3
For Clan War attacks, play on stable Wi-Fi — a dropped connection mid-raid can cost you the three-star.
- 4
Turn off Background App Refresh for CoC to stop it sipping battery and data between sessions; you lose nothing but idle drain.
- 5
Its tiny data footprint makes CoC ideal for mobile data, but enabling Wi-Fi-only play avoids any surprise usage while travelling.
